The polo that says you came to play but you're not wearing a uniform. Walker makes things for the course and the pub, and this one works at both. $120.

Box Par Tee — Found is a Melbourne fashion label that treats the course as a studio and the dress code as a memo it never received. The Box Par Tee is the way in: a heavyweight graphic shirt that reads like an art-school print, not tournament merch, cut to wear off the course without anyone clocking that you play. $118 AUD.

TaylorMade Qi4D — The #1 ranked driver of 2026 across multiple independent tests. 60X Carbon Twist Face engineered for energy transfer and expanded COR. Scottie Scheffler's gamer. Ranked sixth for distance, fourth for accuracy, fourth for forgiveness — no other driver is that consistent across all three. $600.

Queensland, Australia. 14 designs, everything from geometric patterns to pin-up art. Artist Series collabs with Evan Weselmann, Domenico Carnimeo, and Nori Okawa — no creative briefs, just 'make something.' High-percentage natural rubber, soft feel, weather-resistant. The grip equivalent of hanging art in your locker.

The 30th anniversary capsule pays tribute to Jesper Parnevik's 1998 Open look. Pink trousers, black sweater, iconic snapback — all reimagined in polos, striped knitwear, pleated pants, and tailored shorts. Hovland and Norgaard will wear it at Shinnecock, which is either product placement or a love letter depending on your tolerance for nostalgia.

Austin's oldest public course — open since 1924, desegregated since 1950 — is getting a full Coore & Crenshaw restoration. New clubhouse. Teaching center. Trails to Town Lake. And the architects are doing it for free.

Augusta National opened the 2027 Masters ticket application today. The window runs June 1–20 at masters.com. Roughly two million people will apply. Roughly 0.55% of them will get in. The rest will refresh their email for three months and then quietly buy a practice round badge from a guy named Todd.

Sentinel Golf — Basecamp Water Bottle. Ultralight titanium, single-wall construction, clip-top cap with silicon food-grade seal. 600ml. Sentinel makes everything by hand with an obsessive attention to craft — their headcovers are legendary, and their bottles carry the same DNA. $68.

Sour Duck Market — The Peeler Farms Wagyu double smash burger from Odd Duck's bakery-cafe sibling. Two wagyu smash patties with crispy edges, American and pimento cheese, pickles, and secret sauce on the best challah bun in East Austin. $14 for arguably the best smash burger in the city. Brothers Maxton and Drew Reinland started Muni Kids in Portland in 2015 because nobody was making golf gear for the people who actually learned the game on public courses. Eleven years later they've built a universe — headcovers, apparel, art, a podcast, urban golf meetups, a children's book called 'Golforia,' and a brick-and-mortar shop inside Portland's Memory Den. Before the indie golf scene had a name, Muni Kids was already screen-printing it.

Arthur Hills carved Wolfdancer through Lost Pines like he had a grudge against flat land. The greens are fast, the elevation changes are real, and the stretch from 14 to 18 is one of the best closing runs in Texas. You do not need to be a Hyatt guest to play, which makes this the most accessible great course in the Austin orbit. Thirty minutes east and a world away from your Tuesday nine at the muni.

Eastside Golf — Core Fleece Swingman Hoodie. Premium cotton with the iconic Swingman embroidery on the chest and script logo on the sleeve. Olajuwon Walker and Earl Cooper built Eastside to bring streetwear energy to the course. This hoodie is the entry point. ~$88.

Radry Golf is the brainchild of artist Tony Knapton out of Sheboygan, Wisconsin — equal parts golf brand and art studio. The name says it: golf and art supplies. Every hat, crewneck, and headcover starts as one of Tony's illustrations, and it shows. The Radry smiley-face logo is becoming one of the most recognizable marks in independent golf. They do collabs with Seamus, run their own gallery through White Dot Market, and sell limited-edition signed prints alongside $42 dad hats. If you've been looking for a brand that treats golf like a canvas, this is it.

American hickory handle, firm nylon bristles, and a nickel trigger snap that clips to any bag. Dimple & Divot handcrafts every brush in Raleigh, NC — the Murphy is their flagship and it looks better after a season of use. Skip the plastic freebies, this is the one you keep. $45.

On-site food is just a vending machine — no kitchen, no menu, no one cooking anything. But Jo's Coffee is right around the corner with solid coffee and snacks before your round. Post-round grub is where Hancock wins: there's a great wing spot nearby and Otherside Deli, one of the best sandwich shops in Austin, is a quick five-minute drive. The course itself has zero food game, but the neighborhood picks up the slack.

Merrill Golf calls itself "a design venture that aims to create timeless products through the lens of golf." No polos. No moisture-wicking polyester. Instead: acid-washed tees, heavyweight hoodies, five-panel caps, and dad hats that feel more tackle shop than country club. The flying-duck logo tells you everything about the vibe — vintage Americana, outdoors-first, golf as a backdrop for the lifestyle they're actually selling.

The 2026 Trouper is Jones's most refined stand bag yet — redesigned reinforced stand, ergonomic zippers, and that signature silhouette in Dark Green. 5-way top with full-length dividers, magnetic rangefinder pocket, and a cart strap passthrough that actually works. $315.

The statement piece. Full plaid patchwork in a relaxed windbreaker cut — loud enough for the first tee, light enough for post-round drinks. 100% nylon, multicolor. At $288 you're paying for the design, and it's worth every cent.

The 1733 Shoe Bag in Saltex Charcoal — triple-layer Japanese nylon, salt-bath heat-treated for that dense, organic texture. 8L capacity, made in Chicago by 1733. The Saltex material is the story here: rigid out of the box, softens with humidity, snaps back when it dries. DWR coated. At $138 for a shoe bag you're paying for the process, and it shows.

The All The Gear Sweatshirt — dusty tan, script "Casualist" embroidered across the chest, heavyweight crew. This is the after-round layer. The color palette is very on-brand: muted, earthy, the kind of tone that looks good against any course backdrop. Simple piece, well executed.

Left of Field Golf makes modern golf apparel inspired by Australian landscapes — no strict dress codes, no stuffy traditions. The Elements Polo ($105) is their signature piece: technical fabric with a relaxed cut that plays as well on the course as it does at the pub after. Founded by Nick Ilias, LOFG is building a quiet following in the indie golf space with clean designs and accessible pricing.

Lions Municipal opened in 1924 as Austin's first public course — nine holes cut through the oaks on Enfield Road by the Lions Club. In 1950, it quietly became the first desegregated public course south of the Mason-Dixon line. Since 1945, the Firecracker Open has drawn the best amateur players in Texas every Fourth of July weekend. Crenshaw, Kite, and Uresti all won here before turning pro. 54 holes, no cut, and a field that mixes college stars with 60-year-old regulars who've played the course a thousand times.

The SSC Anorak is the hero piece — water-resistant, packable, and cut like it belongs at a lawn party in Savannah. Navy with a clean embroidered crest on the chest. Three TrackMan 4 bays in a converted warehouse south of Slaughter. Southside Golf Co is the most low-key sim spot in Austin — no velvet ropes, no $18 cocktails, just clean bays with tour-level radar and a lounge with pool tables. PGA instruction available, leagues running, walk-ins welcome when a bay's open. The vibe is closer to a buddy's garage setup than a golf bar, and that's the whole point.

Birds of Condor out of Australia. The Tokyo Country Club blade cover channels the minimalism of a Japanese country club you'll probably never visit — clean lines, dark base, subtle branding. $69.95 for something that looks like it came from a pro shop in Karuizawa.

Devereux keeps it simple — the Club Toss Tee is 100% Pima cotton, soft enough to sleep in, sharp enough for the turn. White with a subtle scattered club print that says "I golf" without saying it too loud. $44 and built for triple-digit days.

The hero piece. Hybrid construction — insulated body panels with stretchy woven sleeves for full range of motion. Windproof front, breathable back. The green colorway is the one that looks like it belongs on a links course in Scotland. Also comes in black. $318 and built for rounds where the weather can't make up its mind.

Started at a kitchen counter in East Dallas by a designer named Fiona. Polos, tees, and caps — nothing else. Every run is 100 pieces or fewer. No hype, no performance claims, no lifestyle fiction. Just well-designed, fairly priced golf apparel for people who care about the details but don't need to broadcast it. The tagline says it all: nice things, fair prices.

The best public practice facility in Austin, full stop. Named after the man who wrote the Little Red Book. All-grass range — no mats, no rubber tees — plus two putting greens, a practice bunker, a 3-hole short course, and a PGA Tour-designed 9-hole layout. The range faces east, so afternoon sessions dodge the sun. Buckets run $8–$14. City-owned, open to everyone, and perpetually underrated.

The first heel-shafted putters ever built around Bettinardi's SimplyBalanced zero-torque system. The Hexperimental #7 is a mid-mallet with a plumber's neck — milled in-house, honeycomb face texture, the whole Bettinardi thing. Pre-sale started April 28. The #9 is the blade version if mallets offend you. $550 for either. The kind of putter that makes you wonder if your stroke was ever the problem.

The kings of limited-edition golf accessories. CNC-milled, hand-painted, and deliberately absurd. NES cartridges, bottle caps, 8-balls — Swag treats ball markers like collectible art. Drops sell out in minutes. Most markers run $55–$90, and the aftermarket is even wilder. Based in Atlanta. If you know, you know.

East Austin all-day brunch with a patio and scratch cocktails. The move when you tee off at 7 and finish by noon. Order the pancake, pretend you didn't just three-putt the last four greens. Started as a food truck in 2015 — now two Austin locations and a Denver outpost.

ALD's third annual golf capsule dropped April 23 and it's the most complete yet. The headliner is the ALD × FootJoy Premiere Series Marquis in croc-embossed leather — $375, two colorways, waterproof, with a custom co-branded insole that goes harder than it needs to. Blackwatch plaid runs through a lightweight Tips windbreaker ($495) and a Cordura pullover ($295). The Clubhouse Sweater ($395) is 100% merino with an intarsia-knit golfer on the chest — the kind of piece that makes you look like you belong at a club even if you don't have a membership. Leather-and-Cordura putter cover, performance socks, a flask, and a cigar lighter round out the accessories. Three years in, Teddy Santis keeps treating golf like it's always been part of the culture.

File this under things nobody asked for but everyone needed: Zara Home — the furniture-and-candles wing of the Inditex empire — dropped a full golf collection. A leather golf bag that looks like it was pulled from a 1970s British Open broadcast. Matching headcovers. A knit club cover with more texture than most sweaters. A green cardigan, a two-tone cap, and a leather notebook cover for the golfer who still keeps a paper scorecard. Deep greens, warm browns, soft creams — old clubhouse energy without the stuffiness. A $70 divot tool that has no business being that beautiful. "Designed for the players and for the culture" is literally their tagline. They're not wrong.

Dave Rogenmoser spent a decade building online startups. Now he's building a three-story, 33,000-square-foot private golf and social club in West Lake Hills — and he named it after Alister MacKenzie, because of course he did. Eight Trackman simulator bays, a PuttView putting lab, outdoor short-game greens with Hill Country views, a chef-driven restaurant, wellness studio with sauna and cold plunge, and a pro shop. Michael Hsu is doing the architecture. Membership is application-based with a vetting process — "culture matters more than anything we're building, but we're not exclusive for the sake of being exclusive." Opening late 2026. The bucket hat is having its quiet moment on the course — no logos screaming from the crown, no performance fabric monologues on the hang tag. Just a wide brim, some shade, and the vague suggestion that you know what you're doing out there. Manors' Greenskeeper is recycled fabric with a wide brim that matches their jacket. Malbon covers the range from a clean $58 script logo to the reversible Velasco at $88. Students Golf went full boonie with a screen-printed marble camo that shouldn't work but does. And Birds of Condor — the Australian brand that treats golf hats like an art form — brings the Swing Kings reversible, a corduroy Rage, and the Fore Tiger. Four brands, eight hats, zero visors.

Rob Junge designed exactly one shirt, put a hidden tee holder in the chest pocket, and called it a golf brand. The mock neck heavyweight work shirt — 17.5 oz cotton, made in LA — is the kind of garment that makes you wonder why anyone ever thought polyester was the answer to anything. The hats come with a pencil holder and an actual pencil, because this is the rare brand that remembers you need to write things down on a golf course. Twelve SKUs total, three categories, zero hype — a catalog so small it fits on a scorecard, which is probably the point.

Founded in Stockholm in 2024, Late Nine makes golf clothes for people who think most golf clothes try too hard. Ribbed knits, pleated trousers, windbreakers — all cut relaxed, all made in small European factories that care about hand feel more than moisture-wicking stats. The references are late-'90s and early-2000s, back when golf showed up in film and nobody had to explain why it was cool. They use deadstock materials when they can, keep production runs limited, and price accordingly — polos from $252, outerwear north of $500. Not cheap, but you're paying for fabric choices made by people who clearly spend more time touching swatches than reading trend reports.

Fyfe's new collection is built around the tidal window that lets you cross from mainland to links on the Scottish islands. Four material families: Crinan waxed canvas, Harbour seersucker, Marine Suede in light tan and optic white, and the limited-edition Oban line made from repurposed sail cloth. Headcovers, putter covers, a rangefinder case, a shoe bag, a hickory brush collab with Dimple & Divot, and two MacKenzie carry bags at $888. 22 pieces, $81–$888.

Your green repair game says a lot about you. From hand-forged copper out of Scotland and Portland to machined titanium EDC, these tools fix your marks and look good doing it. Sentinel's Jimmy Bar, Seamus's GOAT, Miura × Seamus, Bettinardi's Hive drop, Birdicorn's 6-in-1, Fyfe's Artisan, and Edel's BB&F ferrule tool. $20–$76.

Gumtree Golf & Nature Club teamed with PUMA on the Field Notes collection, which is what happens when a brand that hand-sews headcovers from vintage fishing waders meets a company that makes sneakers for Rickie Fowler. The capsule includes polos and gear built around Gumtree's nature-first ethos. Two percent of every Gumtree purchase still goes toward pulling CO₂ out of the atmosphere, which is at least one stroke better than most of us manage on a par 3.

Jordan's spring '26 golf lineup is stacked. The AJ1 Low Golf "Chicago" spiked drops May 10 at $175, the White/Fir Augusta colorway landed April 1, and Eastside Golf's ADG 4 is still the culture play. Tony Finau, Mookie Betts, and Chris Paul are all in the campaign. $175–$205.

Vessel's annual Masters-week limited edition dropped and it's gorgeous — green croc-textured synthetic leather with gold accents across five pieces. The Player V Pro, Lux Stand, and Backpack already sold out. The Prime 2.0 Staff ($599) is the only one still standing. $309–$599.

MyGolfSpy tested trail runners against spikeless golf shoes and the verdict surprised everyone: trail shoes won on comfort while golf shoes took stability. If you walk munis and don't care about soggy mornings, these five will outperform your beaters. $120–$170.

By mid-April the water cooler at the Morris Williams turn has become a confessional. Strangers swap excuses for why they're out here in 94 degrees, then fill their bottles and walk back into it anyway.

Leave the office at 5:15, tee off by 5:50, done before dark. No cart, no range balls, no swing thoughts. Just five clubs and whatever the course gives you. This is the version of golf that keeps me coming back.
