Handmade carry bags since 1985 — and the maker behind collabs for Fyfe, Sugarloaf, Miura and Bandon Dunes.
MacKenzie has made one thing by hand in Oregon since 1985: the carry bag. PGA Tour pro Peter Jacobsen and his brother David started the company and named it after Rick MacKenzie, the St Andrews caddie who once carried double for them by tipping both their staff bags into a single leather pencil bag. The first logo was a drawing lifted off his business card.
Forty years on, it is a very small company with a very long order book, with ten employees, seven of whom actually make bags. The house style is consistent: an eight-inch top, a single strap, one pocket if you are lucky, and full-grain leather or waxed canvas built to order in your colors.
MacKenzie is also the maker other brands go to when they want an object rather than a product. It has built bags for Fyfe Golf, Sugarloaf Social Club, Miura and Bandon Dunes, among many others, most of them sold through the partner rather than MacKenzie itself. We collected that record in our MacKenzie Collab Archive, and MacKenzie appears on our 25 Best Independent Golf Brands list.

Yes. The classic Mac is built to order in your choice of leather or waxed canvas and colors, and MacKenzie also makes collaboration bags for other brands and clubs.
