Independent Golf Brands
Independent here means structural, not stylistic: no parent conglomerate, no licensing group, nobody upstairs to approve the range. Bettinardi is still family-run out of Tinley Park. Eastside Golf is founder-owned by Olajuwon Ajanaku and Earl Cooper. No Laying Up answers to its own audience and nobody else.
It matters to a buyer in two specific ways. Independents tend to move faster — a Gamut Golf or a Dormie Workshop can decide on a Tuesday and ship in a month. And they tend to disappear faster, which is why a good number of the brands here also carry the drops-and-vanishes attribute. Buy the thing when you see it.
