Austin eats out of trailers better than most cities eat in restaurants, and the best of them are parked next to a brewery or a coffee shop with a picnic table and room for a golf bag. This is our field guide: fifteen trucks, in three parts of town, from breakfast tacos at 7am to Bib Gourmand barbecue in the afternoon.
If you only make one stop, go to Gimme Burger at Butler Pitch & Putt. It is the one truck in town that is actually on a golf course, and a smash burger after nine short holes is hard to beat. For breakfast before a tee time, Two Goose is a mile from Lions. For the best meal on a picnic table, Patrizi’s.

Yes, one. Gimme Burger is the permanent on-site truck at Butler Pitch & Putt, open daily from noon to 8pm, and the courtyard is open to non-golfers. The other city courses have clubhouse kitchens rather than trucks.
Veracruz All Natural, La Santa Barbacha, Eggman ATX and Two Goose all open at 7am on their serving days. David Doughie's bagels and Briscuits are morning-only trucks, and Gimme Burger does breakfast sandwiches Friday to Sunday from 8am.

Two Goose Market & Barbecue at 706 N Lamar is about a mile away and opens at 7am Wednesday to Saturday, which suits an early tee time.
