Three ways to play it
Safe
Aim fat, stay dry.
9-iron to the center of the green. Ignore the pin, ignore the water, just find the putting surface. At 137 this is a stock short iron — take the extra club and swing smooth. The green is wider than it looks from the tee. Two-putt from 30 feet and walk to 16 with a dry ball and a clean card.

Fun
Ride the wind, trust the number.
It's only 137, so this is wedge territory for most players. Take a smooth PW and shape a baby draw at the left third of the green. The wind usually crosses left-to-right off the creek, so start it at the left edge and let it drift. When it works, the ball tracks toward the pin like it's on a rail. Short par 3s reward tempo over muscle.

Aggressive
Flag-hunt over the water.
When the pin is tucked near the water's edge, that's your moment. Gap wedge, high fade, land it three paces past the pin and let the slope feed it back. Miss right and you're wet. Miss long and you're chipping downhill to the water. But stick it and you're looking at a four-footer for birdie on the best-looking hole on the south side.
