Three ways to play it
Safe
Trust the 3-wood over the ridge.
3-wood aimed at the lone mesquite tree on the ridge line. The fairway opens up past the crest, and a 3-wood gives you enough carry to clear the ridge without overshooting into the rough on the other side. From the fairway, it's a mid-iron to a generous green. Par here feels like birdie anywhere else because you survived the blind spot.

Fun
Driver and hope for the bounce.
Driver straight over the ridge. The fairway on the backside is firm in summer and kicks the ball forward another 20 yards. If you catch the downslope, you're looking at a wedge in. The gamble is what's on the other side — you won't know until you walk up. That three-second wait after impact is the most golf thing about this hole.

Aggressive
Bomb it and go green-hunting.
Full send driver down the right side. The right line shaves 15 yards off the hole and if the ground is fast, the ball can run all the way down to the 100-yard marker. From there, you're looking at a lob wedge to a pin you can finally see. Miss right and you're in the trees, but that's future-you's problem. Present-you is swinging out of their shoes.
